Emerald 17-5641. Pantone describes this gorgeous colour as “a luminous, magnificent hue, the color of beauty, new life and prosperity.”
When you think nursery; pastels, pinks, blues, and whites, are what typically come to mind … even bright colours are chosen for a fun and playful style. But what about those forgotten jewel tones like ruby, sapphire, and emerald?
After reading Pantone’s colour of the year announcement, I decided to put together a pinterest board dedicated to Emerald – in the nursery! Shocking, I know.
It was actually quite tricky to find anything in this colour for babies, BUT, I did manage to find a few things! Surprisingly, I found most of my inspiration on Etsy! Looks like all the crafty people out there are up-to-date with their colour trends!
My absolute favourite find was this stunning Montessori mobile called “The Gobbi” from Goose Designs on Etsy.
It comes in a few different colours, encourages eye-hand coordination, and it stimulates your baby’s visual sense. It has gorgeous graduated colours, and I just love it in the various shades of emerald! It’s beauty was very eye-catching, and luxurious – like the colour emerald, itself.
Don’t forget that Simple Sugar offers custom colour matching as well, so even though emerald isn’t one of our signature colours, most of our prints can be customized in this beautiful colour! I’ve included a few samples on our Pinterest board – “Pantone’s Colour of the Year – Nursery Ideas”, so you can see just how great they look!
So, even though it may be hard to find nursery decor in emerald. I encourage you to take a look at our inspiration board, and discover just how beautiful an emerald nursery can be.
Would you use emerald to decorate a nursery?
